BIBLICAL VIEW OF DISCONTENTMENT.

THE BIBLICAL VIEW OF DISCONTENTMENT.

It is human nature to crave for more than we have. Human beings are hardly satisfied with what they have. The bible however admonishes us to be contented with what we have. You should avoid murmuring and we should always give God thanks for whatsoever we have no matter how small it is. No doubt we all want to live a comfortable life and that is one of the many things God can give us .  Maybe you have near to nothing , do not complain about it rather be contented with it and give God thanks for the little you have and you will see how God will elevate you to a better position. God knows the pain you are passing through and when you put him first he gives you more than you could ever imagine for yourself.

The scripture view of Discontentment: Bible verse!!!

Hebrews 13:5
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you". We must learn to be contented with what we have no matter how small it is. Money is good but you must be free from the love of it for our heavenly father has promised never to leave us neither forsake us.
1 Timothy 6:6- 15
''But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses. I command you before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate testified the good confession, that you keep the commandment without spot, blameless, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ; which in its own times he will show, who is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings, and Lord of lords". The bible is telling us here that we must be contented with what we have, we must flee from the love of worldly things including money which is the root of all evil. We must avoid ungodliness while embracing righteousness, godliness, faith love, patience and gentleness.
We must be contented with what we have and give God thanks for it so that God can make things become the best for us. We must seek God's kingdom first above other things. Matthew 6:33 " But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" . When we put God first by seeking after kingdom things then God steps into the scene and does wonders for us.

Sometimes people begin to ask these questions, other believers are testifying of God's goodness in their life , when will I testify of mine too, why is God silent on my case? I must tell you God is never silent especially when you engage in Kingdom service and you remain faithful to him. What he does is this, he is working behind the scene for you and what he has for you is far far bigger and better than those of others. Anytime someone mocks you, don't cry rather tell God. Don't ever give up but  pray always for the kingdom before that of your needs.  Remember Romans 8:28 " We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose".

Nobody can regret serving God faithfully. He gives you more than enough when you put him first. See Job 36:11" If they listen and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures" ., See also Proverbs 19:23 ". The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm". The word Fear in verse 23 above could also be taken to be Love. When you fear/love God he gives you life, you are rests satisfied and no harm shall by any means come near you. Psalms 34:9-10 Oh fear Yahweh, you his saints, for there is no lack with those who fear him.The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing".

Be contented with what you have. Discontentment brings greed and both interchange. You must not be big eyed like Gehazi in the story of Elisha and Naaman who because of greed was curse with Naaman's leprosy. Jesus speaking in Luke 3:14 says, “Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages.” Discontentment produces greed and it makes one seeks for more through any means whether good or bad. Remember Psalms 37:16 says " Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked". God is able to give us the best if we seek him faithfully. He is able to supply all our needs. Heaven and earth  are all his. He lacks nothing and when you seek him, you can never lack because he is able. Philippians 4:19 My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus".
Discontentment is a sin. It leads to grumbling which is a sin against God. We must learn to be satisfied with what we have and give thanks to God for it. We should put God first in all we do. Winning souls over to God and engaging in kingdom service and prayer are sure way of becoming the best in life. Matthew 6:25 - 26Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?".
I have never never seen what Jesus can not do. He can do all things. He is more than able to do anything at all. All he is asking of you is your heart. Surrender now to him and every other thing follows. Do not wait till later because it could be too late then. Jesus loves you.
