TURNING MANY TO RIGHTEOUSNESS. JAMES 5:19-20.
Basically Jesus Christ came to earth so we could be saved. He came to win our souls over to God. God showed us his love when he sent Jesus Christ his only begotten son to come to earth and die for us. John 3:16-18 " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." Romans 8:5 '' But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us". While Jesus was on earth he went about preaching salvation everywhere. All these he did to save us from hell ".
God is never happy over the death of any of us. Ezekiel 8:25 " For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so repent, and live.”
Now that we are saved , we must bring souls to God. Just like you were saved so must you save other souls from condemnation. God is extremely happy over the repentance of any sinner. To illustrate this point, Jesus Christ used the parable of the prodigal son in Luke chapter 15 verses 11 to 32, we saw how the father was happy when his son returned, so also is God happy when a sinner turns to him.
It is wise and good to win souls to God. Proverbs 11:30 "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise" It is good to win sinners over to God, by doing so , we save souls from hell, see James 5:19-20''Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins''. Hell is real and God did not create hell for anyone. Hell was created for Satan and other falling angels which are his agents. Satan is in the business of deceiving a lot of people so that he could drag many souls with him to hell. We must tell the whole world about Christ and turn many to Christ to shame the devil. When you see a brother or sister going astray, you should in a polite manner correct him or her and tell that person about Jesus and how important it is to get to know and surrender completely to Christ.
If you do not correct a straying brother or sister, the person's blood will be on you. Ezekiel 33:3-15 "When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman; if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and doesn’t take warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be on his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and didn’t take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul. But if the watchman sees the sword come, and doesn’t blow the trumpet, and the people aren’t warned, and the sword comes, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I tell the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you don’t speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand. Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn’t turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul. You, son of man, tell the house of Israel: Thus you speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live? Tell them, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Israel? You, son of man, tell the children of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his disobedience; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall he who is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sins. When I tell the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he has committed, therein shall he die. Again, when I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die".
Jesus Christ also ordained us to preach the gospel all over the earth and win souls over to God. Let's see the scriptures:
Matthew 28:19-20 " Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen".
Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
